Acetate card

Another card to take me from that comfortable place, an acetate card, but in the end I really enjoyed it and have made a few more since.

Elegant lady

I don't really know why I haven't blogged for so long, I have made some little packages with Easter eggs in for some elderly folk who go to a club, but I haven't managed to photo them (problems getting my camera onto my new laptop) and they are too bulky to scan, as too some other bits and bobs I've made recently. Anyway I did go to the Make it show in Farnborough earlier this year and picked up some Debbi Moore stamps...I managed to have a little play at the weekend and I'm really pleased with the result on this card....I coloured with pro markers.....I'm not sure I want to give it away now ha ha ha.

Another Steam Punk challenge

I'm not too sure whether I am getting the hang of this Steam punk business, but I am taking part in a bi monthly challenge and it's good to stretch yourself out of your comfort zone sometimes isn't it?
So this is my latest offering.

Inchies cards inspired by Februrary Craft Stamper

I managed an hour in my craft room this morning, well it's my little Sunday treat to listen to the Archers on a Sunday morning, either crafting and or/ironing as as the latter is up to date the former won today!!!!!
I rather liked the fresh clean look of these inchie cards in Craft Stamper this month so decided to have a play.....they haven't scanned very well, they look much better in the 'flesh', must get my camera registered onto my laptop and photograph my work.
Hope you are all keeping warm and safe in this horrid snowy icy and cold weather...roll on spring.

Pretty in pink

I've made this card my old neighbours little girl. She was born after we moved so I don't really know her, but I always remember her birthday.
Thought the cat looked rather at home with a pink background.

Catching up

Gosh it's ages since I put anything on my blog and now it's like those buses it all comes at once!!!!.
We have had a week away, and on top of the 'retired one' being home now, plus visits to the hospital the time just seems to whizz by. Anyway I had to get down to some crafting as LOADS of birthdays etc this month, so decided to see if I could really get into this steam punk thing, and surprisingly enough my son's girlfriend recognised what the man's card was (yes steam punk!) so that inspired me. I have lots of ladies birthdays this month so thought I would make them all a notebook to match their card...it's taken quite a while to do them all, and I have to admit I've made several others too as some of them I didn't think suited these particular friends...do you ever do things like that, so it all takes soooo much longer.

Is this SteamPunk?

My friend who I have known since guiding and youth club days (not many years ago!!) has a birthday this month, so I am trying out the Steam Punk idea again for her card. I'm not totally sure if this is true Steam punk as I haven't added very much to it, just a flower and some cogs plus a couple of swirls with some gold foil on.....Anyway I'm quite pleased with it and I am sure she will like it if she thinks I've made it cos she looks like the lady in the picture!!!!!

Must be in a 'blue' mood

Seems like I must be in a blue mood as this and the last card are both blue!!!
Still it makes a change from the browns, oranges and reds I tend to use.
This card is for a gent who is 82 today, and yes, I'm late making it and getting it posted, so I think we might have to take a run out to see him tomorrow. No good today as he will no doubt be with his family.
I used some blue paper that already had a brown distressed finish on it (the brown was a TH Frayed Burlap colour which was handy as I have that ink pad) so I used the FB to stamp the butterflies, which I then masked and stamped the text, with a scrap of paper left over I got the good old cuttlebug out and cut the little card which I then put a couple of slits in to thread through the ribbon tape I'd coloured with the ink pad. I stamped another butterfly, added a bit of glitter to that one, and used some gel to raise it up just a little bit.....the inside also has some butterflies running throughout. I'm pleased with the end result considering my mojo seems to have been on a bit of a Seasonal holiday ha ha ha.

Steam Punk!!

My goodness I've agreed to take part in a challenge which is STEAM PUNK and boy have I had trouble getting to grips with it.
Anyway I took the bull by the horns and had a go yesterday.
Not sure if this is what is expected, but best I could come up with for a first effort.

Finally crafting again

Well well well, I finally managed to get some inspiration to craft again, to be honest it was mainly because I REALLY did need to send a Thank you card. After all the Christmas themed cards which seemed to dominate life I decided to use the free stamp with the Artistic Stamper last month. What a cheerful chick this is and a refreshing change.
It doesn't really show, but I used a cream card for the base, and I used cotton binding and inked it with my faithful ink pads. I just need to get to the post box, but today is NOT the day....strong winds and very heavy rain. I think my thanks will have to wait for another day!
