My very first canvas

I have finally taken the plunge and completed my very first canvas. I bought the blank (well it wasn't blank, it had a design drawn on for children to colour) from a pound shop in town, and thought I didn't have anything to loose by having a play.

I coated it with some white emulsion, stamped on those lovely ladies again that I bought from Jennie (The Artistic Stamper). I was going to use some grungeboard swirls, but used some chipboard ones instead and coated them in gold embossing powder. I used the waste from the grungeboard swirls as a stencil and used the emulsion paint first, then shadowed with Tim Holtz Distress inks in old paper and tattered rose. I splodged clear ink in various places, gold embossing powder over the top and heated. Something was needed in the top corner so I found a rose from an Anna Griffin kit.

I have kept it quite simple as I have a habit of 'not knowing when enough is enough'. I have another canvas so might try to do something a bit more adventurous next time.

Altered Frame Made in Jennie's Workshop

This is the frame I made in Jennie's workshop, it is the same colour all the way round, REALLY it is, it just came out looking two tone via the scanner. I really enjoyed making this but I think I had more ink on my hands than on the frame!!!!




I fell in love with the lady images and wished I had bought them at the show, so sent off for them over the weekend and they arrived this morning.

Masking

I received my Lady stamps from Jennie at the Artistic Stamper in the post this morning. Goodness me what quick service she gives, brilliant. I couldn't wait to get started with them and having a go at stamping and masking, which we learnt in Jennie's workshop at the Make It show in Farnborough last Saturday. As I really liked the layout of my blue card yesterday I thought I would try it again, but to be honest I don't think it has worked out so well, I am not so chuffed with this one.

I made this card yesterday using a new stamp I bought at the Farnborough Show on Saturday. I remembered that in the Craft Stamper they were doing a new series, giving ideas as a basic layout to use however you liked, so I decided to use their suggestion. I am quite pleased with the finished card, and it has used up some old papers I have had in the draw for quite a time now.

Heart hanger

I bought a heart hanger for someone as a gift, but before I gave it away I had a go at making something similar myself.

This is the result. I cut the two heart shapes from Mountboard (the original was much thicker) then used Acrylic paint to cover it and distressed the edges with sandpaper and used Distress ink over the top. Then added check ribbon, paper flowers and the little verse on a seperate tag. It is all held together with twine.

Sunday Stampers....Under the Moon of Love

This week the colours had to represent the colours of a 'bruise' after someone had been in an accident!!! I hope I have managed it. I didn't have any stamps with anything to do with the moon so used these stamps from Carolines. I hope you think it is quite sweet with the little cat looking up from the branches of a tree.

Little Houses

AT LAST I have started a blog.

So the first thing to add to it is the little houses I have made for a swap.

They had to be ATC size with a roof of some description added. Then anything could be added to it as long as inking and stamping were used too.
