Boxes of Thank you notelets

I thought I'd make some thank you notelets and boxes for my three young grand daughters to use after Christmas (not too sure they will appreciate them though!!) I have made two sets with the butterfly on the box for the eldest two and the bear with flowers for the youngest.

Once I had started I wondered just what I was doing, three boxes with hand made embellishments and coloured with inks, each with six notelets and envelopes inked and stamped too. In fact the first box I had made 4 x 4 and then found the envelopes were 4 x 4 and didn't fit, so had to set about and make slightly smaller envelopes as well for that one...A lesson learnt and the next two boxes were made slightly larger to save the extra work.

Door hangers

I took part in another challenge, this time to make a door hanger for a crafter, these are the two I made.

I made the flowers by using various die cuts through my cuttlebug and layering them up, and added the small rose which is another die that you have to roll up into a flower. I got very inky hands making these....lovely.

I have had a busy couple of weeks with visits to dentist for treatment and the vampire nurse for blood tests, shopping and just the usual run of the mill things in life and now I am suffering from a cold, yuck.

I suddenly realised I needed some more birthday cards for friends and as my dentist is really near my local craft shop I had to call in, didn't I?

I found these cute Housemouse stamps so treated myself, decided I shouldn't have when I got the dentists bill, but too late by then...good job I called in BEFORE the dentist. I've made them into easel cards, but as it's easier to scan them they don't really show them to their best.

Hubby's birthday card

Why are men so difficult to make for? I've made this card for Neil's birthday, not sure he will appreciate it as he is not really a party animal!!!!!

For my son's new girlfriend.

We are going out for my birthday lunch on Sunday, and my youngest son is bringing his new girlfriend who's birthday was yesterday, so I have made this card for her.

Been AWOL

Seems ages since I made anything to pop on here, mainly because my son has been using some left over work top from my new kitchen to make me a new crafting place....he is always short of money so has given his time for my birthday present, which I think it brilliant, as it's something I have needed because my old desk was falling apart. SO all my stash has been scattered about in two rooms for a couple of weeks, and we have been away on holiday for a week too.

This morning my room is just about organised, apart from a tweek or two here and there as to the best place to put things and I JUST HAD to go and have a play.

A friend is going through a tough time with some family problems and is in a lot of pain with a hip problem so I thought I'd send her a card......went through some older Craft Stamper mags and found some ideas from Lavinia Stamps, I don't have many of her stamps, but used the idea with various stamps I do have. I drew the branches and used tapestry stamps for the leaves and other stamps for all the other bits and bobs. Quite like the finished thing, it's quite Autumny, hope it cheers her up a bit when she receives it.

For a poorly neighbour

My neighbour is quite poorly and has been in hospital for quite a few weeks now. Another neighbour and I are going to see her this evening.

As you can't take flowers into hospital here, and as she says everything tastes horrid at the moment I thought a few flowers on a card might cheer her up.

Ickle bird

Why are cards for men so difficult? I had an idea to make this card, or at least something similar.

I used a swirl stamp and some tapestry stamps, and the bird is from a Penny Black Christmas collection I bought last year.

Using labels

Loved the article in the craft stamper using lables as masks, I've done that here, using the same sort of colours and stamps as the originator of the article, but it doesn't show up very well on the picture via the scanner.

Need a card for my brother in law, might send this one, but I have another card with some glitter on drying upstairs so he might get that, see what the other'alf thinks when he sees them!

Will try to scan that once the glitter is dry.

Time to play

What nasty wet weather we have been having, so what better time to go and get inky and messy!

I take part in a monthly swap (well most months I do, last month's is still sitting on my desk, it was hidden and I totally forgot about posting it, how stupid!!!!) This month is to make a box and put some notelets inside. The theme is Autumn.

I made a mini pizza box and covered it inside and out with a leaf stamp using lots of autumnal colours, and getting my fingers very messing in the process, but hey, that's the fun of it isn't it?

I have added a few spiders with another stamp and even his cobwebs, I wonder if the receiptient will notice them. I even stamped the ribbon with some leaf stamps too. I also went around all the leaves with a sparkly pen but that doesn't show up on the picture. The notelets are not all the same, but all have the same leaf stamp on them.

Using the same idea

I've used the same idea for this card for my friend's birthday and whilst the post it notes were still attached I used various stamps and a blue inkpad to add the flowers and bird. I also added some sparkle with a glitter pen on the bird and drew a fine line round the oblong with the pen but it doesn't show up on here. I did a background with the sparkly pen which you can only see if it catches the light.

(there looks like a little 'splodge' on the bottom rh corner but I did check before I sent the card and it wasn't there on the card.....there are several marks showing on my cards so me thinks I SHOULD clean the inside of the scanner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Can't wait to get my next issue of CS to see what inspires me next month.

I've done it again!

Ok, by now I think many of you have guessed I buy Craft Stamper every month and gain inspiration from it. I've been away for a week and was reading the magazine whilst away. How frustrated was I not to have my stash with me, so today I've done the washing, been to town and walked the dogs twice, so after all of that I just HAD to have half an hour to play. I thought this article looked so crisp I was itching to try it out. The idea is to mask off a shape using 'post it notes' and use distress inks to add colour, I've used yellow, spiced marmalade and red hot pepper on these.

My neighbour was taken into hospital at Tooting yesterday, and an op today so I don't think I will be able to get up there to visit unless I go with her hubby one day. Anyway I am just off to pop it through his door so he can take it up to her so she knows we are thinking of her. The other is self explanatory, a thank you card. I hope you like these, I am sure you will be seeing a few more like this but maybe using different colour combinations and stamps.

Wedding card

My dog trainer is off to the States to get married this month and I just had to make her a card.

I have cheated a bit with this one, as I found a scrapbook page with the bride and groom on and the swirls and flowers, I have added some wedding velum to the left hand side together with ribbons and extra glitter. I have also made a box using some very faithful stamps...yes there it is again my dear old swirl stamp and the dancing couple which I thought was quite like the card image. I made an insert which matches the box, but I didn't want to bend the card in half to scan it. I feel quite chuffed with this one, and hope she likes it (and the bottle of bubbly to celebrate with!)

I changed my mind

I found this stamp in the same series at the other one for my son, and as he is an avid footie fan thought he would appreciate this one more.

I used my cuttlebug to cut out 34 and stuck it on.

Bank Holiday

We have had quite a busy weekend but this afternoon I have found a little bit of time to make some cards.

One for a dear friend's anniversary and have scanned the insert as well. I have also made one for my eldest son's birthday in September, not too sure he will appreciate the image as he will be 34 this year!!!!! But I like it and have coloured it with my promarkers.

Grand daughter's birthday card

My eldest grand daughter will be 14 next month...how scary is that? This is the card I have made for her.

The image is from a Craft Stamper stamp from a few months ago and the letters are from Tim Holtz Vintage letters die cut.

Lots of cards

I have loads of birthdays next month so have started on making the cards as it's been such a wet afternoon, it's like winter looking outside, and very dreary.

A Thank you card

In November I had some alterations done and a new kitchen fitted, however, one or two problems arose through no fault of anyone in particular, but the boss of the installations department has been so very helpful and this week the last of the problems have been completed.....so I thought I should send the chap a card just to thank him and the staff for everything they have done to rectify everything.

I've probably blogged a similar card as I have made a few like this, I love the flourish stamp (I am sure you know that by now as I've used it sooooo many times!!!!!!) and the owl stamp that came with the Craft Stamper several months ago....I think the addition of the googly eyes really finish him off.

91st birthday

I saw a card similar to this in this month's Craft Stamper. Although I didn't have the exact stamps I thought I would try to achieve something similar....So out came my good old faithful swirl stamp and my tapestry stamps that I haven't used for yonks....they provided the foliage which I added to the swirl. I coloured the flower with Marvy pens rubbed onto a tile and then water coloured in pink and a purply blue, added some glitter to the centre of the flower and a little onto the leaves, and used co ordinating ribbons. The lettering and number was achieved by using my 'bug' and some silver glitter paper.

I made a matching insert... this is the front of the insert and instead of black for the swirl etc I used a soft grey and lighter colouring for the flower

I need a 91st birthday card for the end of the month and thought this would be a nice card to send. (At least I remembered to scan it before I send it....I often forget to do that!!!!)

Going Green!

A change of colour for me although still a similar background....I just love getting inky and messy doing these and embossing with different colours and various stamps. I have added some 'jewels' on the flower and butterfly but they don't show up very well on the scanner. (I'm not too sure I should have added the flower, but it's too late now, it's well and truely STUCK on there!!!!!)

My forum friend's mother isn't well so I decided to make a card to send to let her know I am thinking of her at the moment.

My friend has also asked if her crafting friends could make some cards for the hospice to sell at their open day in September, so I have been busy making some for them, too many to put on here, but I hope they raise a little bit of money from them for such a good cause.

My neighbour's birthday card and box

It is my neighbour's 70th birthday tomorrow and I have left it a bit late to make her card. The first one I made I was really unhappy with, but liked the colours and background so set about making something a little bit plainer. I also made a matching box for her present to go in. An invitation to her party next weekend had a couple of pictures of her as a young woman, so I found a little frame to put the smallest one in, it was just the right size, and I've added some flowers and ribbon to finish it off. I scanned the box so it the picture hasn't come out very well, I really should get some batteries for my camera!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A simple Thank You card

We have been invited to a birthday party so made this quick and simple card as an acceptance.

Although it is quite basic I think it has worked out well.

I used the flower stamp that came with the last copy of Craft Stamper, think it is going to be a really useful stamp!!!!!

Messy fingers doing this one

Lots of inking and stamping on this one as I made the background paper from stratch using Tim's distress inks, with his swirl die cut, and some rubber stamping.

The flowers are from this month's Craft Stamper.

I added the ribbon and the happy birthday message which was stamped onto a nestie's square.

Flutterby card

We have a young lady in the family who will be 10 next month and I know that she loves pinks and purples.

I used the Papermania 3D butterfly stamp and my promarkers to colour it, added some glitter for a bit of Bling! (shame the scanner doesn't pick up the glitter, and the card in real time looks much 'sharper')

Gone all pink and girly

Having a change from the inky and grungy craft as some very dear friends have just returned from a holiday in France in time to be home for the safe arrival of their first Great Grand daughter....ahhh.

Just had to make the Great Grand parents a card as they are just so excited.

Tag for another swap

I've made this tag for another swap, using the same colours and stamps as for the earlier card I made.

Matchboxes

I'm taking part in another swap this month and it is to make a matchbox box.....I think the matchboxes I bought are on the small side so I am not totally happy with the result, but as time is running out I am going to have to send it off for the swap.

However I am quite pleased with the front of the box. I have put a few little crafting goodies in the 'drawers' as a surprise for whoever receives this.

More messy fingers!

We had quite a busy weekend out and about, but I did find some time to play and get messy.

It's a good friend's birthday soon so I decided not to leave her card to the last minuite as I usually do. I made the background blending several different colour ink pads, a swirl stamp and I usedthe 'waste' from a swirl die cut to stipple through some gold ink over the top. The topper is the free stamp from AS last month.

Getting inky and messy

I got really inky and messy making this card. It's for a wedding anniversary for some friends.

I used Tim's Distress ink pads (again!) in Weathered wood and Tea dye blended on some card, stamped the flourish in black and made the flowers with Hobbycraft (I think) stamps. Then I rubbed over Tim's Distress stickles in Blue which gives it a good 'grungy' look

Hooked on making this background

I've got the bug for making this background at the moment, getting my fingers all inky and messy. Trouble is I think my heat gun is going to give up the ghost soon as it is making some peculiar noises at the moment. My 'vampire' nurse at my surgery is getting married next month, just a very quiet wedding I gather. As I see rather a lot of her at the moment I thought I'd make her a card to wish the happy couple well.

More cards

I was looking through last month's Artistic Stamper and decided to try one of their projects on background papers.

I used Tim's Distress ink pads in Worn Lipstick and Old paper and a brayer to randomly add these inks to the card then a blender tool and Tea Dye to go around the edges and fill in any gaps.

I then stamped a flourish stamp and embossed with white embossing powder and overstamped with a text stamp and flower in Walnut. I got lovely and messy and felt quite happy with the results.

Le Chat Noir

I have used the stamp from last month's Artistic stamper for this card for a cat loving friend's birthday.

I made the black and white background paper and coloured a printed piece of paper red for the bottom of the card, and used the same ink to colour the flowers, then just used some black ink blended around the edges (it's basically a copy of an atc folder shown in the AS) I think she will like it.

For a forum friend

It was a forum friends birthday last weekend and I sent this card, now she has received it I can post it on my blog!

Crafting Challenge

As I enjoyed taking part in a challenge last month to make a mini brag book, I decided to enter again this month. The challenge is to make a box with a theme of Gorgeous Ladies and to put a sweet treat or two inside

I've really enjoyed doing this, I used the Gibson Girls stamp set, distress ink pads and black and gold embossing powder on the orange/brown one, and stippled paints, black and silver embossing powder on the pink one.

Anniversary card

I can't believe it's my sister in laws first anniversary this month, as I have been in a 'crafty' mood I have made her a card so it will be all ready to get in the post nearer the day.

It's not like me to be so organised!!!!

Why are cards for men so difficult to do? I found this stamp a little while ago and have used it for a card for a friend of ours. I coloured it with my promarkers. I think it's ok!
