An award

How thrilled was I when checking my blog this morning to find a message from my friend Alison to say there was something for me on her blog.
When I popped into her blog there was this lovely award awaiting.
I just had to bring it over for you to see.
So thank you Alison, it has quite made my day.

Anniversary Card

I made this card for some dear friends, a lovely couple who recently celebrated their 53rd Wedding Anniversary.
I copied a basic layout from a magazine, and used my cuttlebug to emboss the card.
The hedgehogs are some Penny Black stamps

Bon voyage

I am still up to my eyes in this catering lark getting ready for everyone coming to lunch tomorrow, and guess what, my eldest son asked me to make a card for a friend who is going off to live in France.
I made this card first thing this morning, just after 7 am, so I am hoping it will be ok for him to give her....Bless him....As if I haven't got enough to do today...ha ha.

Sunday Stamper..week 51..Girls Talk.

Oh dear, I am late again joining in the Sunday Stamper Challenge.
I have a busy weekend ahead with about 18 of us here for lunch on Saturday, so my head is full of catering things instead of craft!!!!!
I finally managed to find some time today to play and this is my finshed effort.
(I have a feeling I might have pinched someone else's idea with the flower)

Bookmark swap

I was so thrilled with the pocket swaps I received, and the inspiration I gained from seeing other peoples true works of art, I agreed to join in this month's swap which is to make two bookmarks. The main theme, apart from generally getting inky and messy was sentiments.

Birthday card

I did a really silly thing. I sent out all my birthday cards for this month to forum friends, then this morning I had a very nice message from one lady to say thank you for the card, but her birthday is not until June ha ha ha, I had only sent it to the wrong lady....same christian name, I don't know, there is NO hope for me.
Anyway this afternoon I made this card for the lady whose birthday is in March.

Oh Wow Wow Wow Wow

As you can see I am quite blown away this morning. I took part in a 'pocket' swap and today the postie brought me the most fantastic pockets.
They are just so beautiful I had to share them with you.
Needless to say I am just a tad embarrased by the efforts I sent in for swapping.

Candyfloss & Marshmallow

I couldn't resist treating myself to some of the new Papermania stamps and thought the bunnies would be lovely to use for an Easter card for my little Granddaughter.
She is just coming up to 4 and LOVES pink, but I thought I would do something in different colours for a change. (No doubt her birthday card will be pink!!)
I stamped three images and decoupaged, used a boarder stamp of flowers across the card and individual ones which I coloured and cut out, and of course the little dragonfly.
I found some of the Whispers blending pens I've had for a while and hadn't really got on with, and have now found they are great for colouring small areas, just touch it on the inkpad to pick up some colour and use. Then rub over scrap paper to clean. Brilliant.

Spring must be in the air!!!

I had only just finished making the card for the safe arrival of my great nephew last week, when Neil announced his Manager's wife had given birth to a little girl. So exciting times all round.
Actually we had bumped into the couple in town on Saturday about 1.45, the poor girl looked so uncomfortable, bless her. Anyway the email Neil received said the baby arrived at 2.45!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to say on reflection I was quite relieved that we had to leave them as we were due in the local Theatre at 2.30 because I really don't think I would have made a very good midwife!!!!!!

Sunday Stamper week 49 and 50

I have actually managed to join in the Sunday Stampers challenge this week, in fact I have made two fat book pages (which I can use in a swap that is coming up)
Week 49...'What's New Pussy Cat'
and
Week 50..'This O(w)l thing called love'
I have to confess, I had to cheat a little bit with this as I could not find an owl image amongst my stash. Everything else is inked and stamped but I raided a Beatrix Potter book I bought in a charity shop yonks ago and there was the wise old owl, just what I needed.

Tag Swap

I take part in a tag swap on my friend Irene's forum.
This time I have tried something I saw in the Craft Stamper this month and a couple of issues ago.
I brayered the base colour on using Brilliance 'twilight' ink pad and scattered straw distress ink pad. The stamps came from Carolines Stamps. I used the fairy, moon, birds, spiders web, spider and cat.
The foliage came from other various stamps.
The tag with the large flowers on came from an idea in the older magazine which was an article on making something from rubbish!!!
The flowers have been made by stamping onto newspaper and cut out. I made a smaller tag to thank the girl hosting the swap.

Silver anniversary

A forum friend is due to celebrate her 25th Wedding Anniversary, what a wonderful milestone!
I've used that swirl stamp again for the background, I just can't leave it alone, ha ha!! and stamped it in silver, the topper is made using two of anita's stamps I've had in my draw forever, the writing and heart have been embossed, I cut out the heart and stamped the people dancing on a seperate sheet and just used their heads underneath. I added a bit of colour using distress ink pads, and finished it off with a bit of silver ribbon and some jewels on the background.

To cheer a friend

I have a friend who is a bit sad a low just now, so thought I would send her a card in the hope it might just cheer her up a little bit.

Yes it's those lovely girls again!!!!!!

This card is for my sister law's birthday.

It has been stamped in black stayzon and I used my fav swirly stamp in black too, but then shadowed it with tattered rose distress ink to add just a hint of colour. I mounted it on black before putting on the white base card.

New baby card

Exciting times as a new baby is due in the extended family so have made this card to send on his arrival
(they say it is a him, so fingers crossed someone hasn't made a dreadful mistake!!!!)
I really struggled with this one. In the end I stamped New Baby Boy with stayzon and added stickles waterfall glitter. I used Anita's Teddy stamp and added a blue bow.
