A card for a man.

Why are cards for men so difficult to do? I found this stamp a little while ago and have used it for a card for a friend of ours. I coloured it with my promarkers. I think it's ok!

Brag book

I haven't been feeling too well recently and haven't managed to very much in the way of crafting apart from the cards that have 'had' to be made and sent out.
I decided to take part in a 'swap' of a brag book having watched a demo by Hunkeydory crafts on IW the other week, each section is made from an 8 x 8 sheet of paper and folded in a certain way, a piece of card inserted to make it sturdy and to put your picture on, and card 'hinges' to join each section together. I was quite pleased with the end result.

More cards.

Two more birthdays at the weekend so had to get the mind working to make some more cards
The green one is for my sister in law's 70th birthday and similar to the other one I made before, but slightly different, it has three layers to it so quite a thick card. I used my nesties to cut the circle out and to make a boarder for it.
The other one is for a long time friend who sadly I don't see very often these days as we live a long way apart.

Card for Great Nephew

Goodness me, it really doesn't seem a year ago since my great nephew was born, but it will be at the weekend.
My friend bought a cow template at the Farnborough show at the weekend and kindly lent it to me, so I have made this card for the little chap.
I brayered the background (having been inspired by the demo on Lavinia stamps on Saturday) used a small grass stamp on the bottom of the card and a bamboo stamp up the side. I punched a few glittery flowers just to add a bit of bling and brightness to it.
I found a packet of goggly eyes I've had for ages and think they are just right.
She is quite a little cutie isn't she?

New stamps

I treated myself to some 'Lavinia' stamps at the Farnborough show at the weekend and just had to have a play!
The samples and demo that Lavinia stamps had on their stall were just lovely and a real inspiration, I just hope that with time I will be able to replicate something similar.
I made this for a couple who are going to celebrate their 55th Wedding Anniversary this week....wow, what a milestone, and they are both so full of fun and life.

Another birthday card

Not only did I make one card yesterday, but this one too.
I had watched some of Craft Day on QVC and was inspired
by the Hero Arts lady (Sherree?)
I'm afraid I borrowed her inspiration for this card.
I used a background stamp I haven't used for ages on
some thin card, stuck it to the front of the card, inked a strip of paper to form the strip across and stamped the happy birthday on a thinner piece of white card.
Added the flourish and the flower, which was initially a brownish colour so rubbed the ink pad over and rubbed over a bit of stickles glitter.

Bird Birthday Card

I've been poorly with this rather nasty tummy bug doing the rounds, but felt a bit better yesterday so sat quietly and did some crafting, more from necessity than anything as I have to get a card in the post TODAY! (Can't believe I've remembered to scan the card before I send it, I keep forgetting to do that!!)
I used distress inks to blend the background of this, added some swirls and the bird.....I 'decoupaged' the body and one wing of the bird and made the flowers adding a black circle and some glossy accents to the centre of them.
Feel quite pleased with this one.

Paper Flowers

I really loved my friend Hels article in the Craft Stamper this month and decided to have a play.

I didn't have grungeboard nor the stamp for the flowers, so made them by drawing the flower shape by hand and used card....not quite so good but at least I learnt how to make the flowers!!!!

I have scanned this so the picture so it's not a very good image.
